Therapeutic Ultrasound

Therapeutic Ultrasound differs from diagnostic ultrasound in that we are not using ultrasound to gain images of the patient, but rather we are using ultrasound waves to provide deep heating to soft tissues.

Therapeutic ultrasound is used to treat chronic pain and improve healing by improving elasticity of tissues and increasing circulation.

Patients who can benefit from therapeutic ultrasound are:

  • Patients with tight muscles, tendons, ligaments or joints

  • Patients with reduced range of motion

  • Patients with tendinitis

  • Patients with ligament injuries

  • Post operative FHO patients

  • Arthritic patients
